Emi Morishita

Music has been a constant companion in my life since childhood. My mother is a pianist and my father is a trumpet conductor. I myself started playing the piano when I was 3 years old. After many years of hard work and diligent practice, I was admitted to the Yuhigaoka Junior College in Osaka, Japan. I obtained my degree there after which I went on to study teaching, religion, languages and piano at Doshisha's Women's College of Liberal Arts. In 2012, I found my way back to Belgium where I continued my studies at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. In 2016, I joined the Royal Ballet School Antwerp where I get to play my favourite instrument every day for students giving their all to become professional dancers. I want to improve their skills with my music so they are able to develop into expressive dancers. You have to work very hard as a pupil, but your body forever remembers the effort you made and the suffering you experienced.
